On February 29th we once again "invaded" the woods on Songis Road for our annual three day winter camp.  Once again the weather was near perfect with a few inches of snow on Friday night and the temperature dropped down to - 23°C on Saturday night to make it interesting.  All Participants were prepared and no one was uncomfortable.

Special Thanks to Scouters Gord, Ralph and Steve for providing additional pictures for this site

There is a small creek that runs through the site that never freezes which gives us a source of water for cooking.
Scouter Gord set up his teepee/sock and mitt drying station earlier in the week.
West Ferris Troop set up there cooking area
Due to the lack of snow, quinzees were out of the question so lean-tos covered with spruce bows were made.
Scouter Steve utilized a fallen tree for his shelter
"Flags up, Guess we're done"
Scouter Ian brought his prospector tent complete with exotic lighting.
First North Bay opted for traditional Lean-tos
Firewood was hauled to the sites from the road.

Scouter Ken was in charge of the "Thunder Box" (Latrine) construction
"Just Relax, I'm testing, not resting"
